Namma & Papa visit--Nov 2011

Pittsburgh ZOO - November 8, 2011 - 70 degrees - Not crowded - The PERFECT Day
We had such a wonderful time when my parents were here! They spent every moment playing with the kids and playing games with us. The first day we walked down to the zoo and it was a perfect fall day. I am glad we went then, because the next few days were rainy and cold.
Here is Asher and his Papa--they shared this male bond that is so so sweet. Asher BAWLED when he left. Papa always spends so much time on the floor with him doing little projects and playing. I am so grateful because they are only see each other once or twice a year.
Yea, he was in heaven with both his grandparents attention on him. I love that joy evident on his face. I have the best parents.
Crawling in the Polar Bear trap, getting very dirty and...
LOVING IT!
We had to scrub hard with a few different soaps to get the dirt out of her little pink outfit by the end of the day. So worth it though!
Asher the Jaguar! AARRGGG!!!
Elsa just going solo in the double jogger while Big Asher had to walk! She did pretty good. Although she is wanting to get out a lot more now, too!
Perfect visual of what I stated above!
And of course, Elsa made it out pretty soon thereafter--she just had to WALK!
We can never pass the little rides in the beginning without riding them (although usually in the stationary form, using no coins--but thanks to fun grandparents with quarters, they got to actually ride this time-YAY!).

CEMETERY
We went to the Allegheny Cemetery for a little bit as we were passing it--it is really beautiful and and huge! The geese were getting so close and Asher had a fun time trying to touch one, but really he just chased them away!
My dad loves to learn about all things-he really enjoyed the headstones.

HANGING OUT TOGETHER
So pretty after a nap!
Snuggling her Papa! We were just doing genealogy together. It was really fun. We were transcribing postcards from my great grandma, Elsa Laird (Elsa's namesake).

SCIENCE CENTER
We love the new Sports Center that has more fun activities for big kids (and adults)!Almost ready!
Oh man, I feel like a cheerleader again! I was so giddy jumping up and down and doing back flips and toe touches. TOO MUCH FUN!
More lines--but enjoying hanging out together!Look at that Hot Babe about ready to pitch that baseball!Go Asher!Skateboarding--oh yeah! You are so fast, Babe! Wow!
The robots were pretty cool. The submarine was amazing. I have never been in one before. It was incredible to see how small it was and to imagine so many men living in there together for 6 or more months straight without ever seeing land. Wow. So cool.
Look at that thing--go inside next time you are there!

OAKMONT BAKERY
Of course we had to hit up the bakery. It is famous, inexpensive, and intensely Delicious!Thank you for coming to visit us here in Beautiful Pittsburgh! We had a perfect visit. It was so much fun! We love you and miss you so much!
